From ancient times, it is so common that Christians are persecuted. The way of following the Lord is full of tough break and suffering. But we should know that we are blessed because suffering persecution for Christ is commemorated by God. Just as Jesus said: “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:10). Then when we suffer persecution, how can we defeat Satan? Let’s read the following Bible verses and learn how to rely on the Lord and look up to Him when we suffer persecution, so that we can stand firm.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you;
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
If the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:
Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.
My times are in your hand: deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from them that persecute me.
Blessed are you, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
And Jesus answered and said, Truly I say to you, There is no man that has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, But he shall receive an hundred times now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come.
