Marriage is an important juncture in our life. Everyone longs for a happy marriage. Do you know the origins of marriage? When you have conflicts with your spouse, or when your spouse does something that hurts you, how can you settle the dispute and forgive your spouse? When life gets hard, how can spouses encourage each other to get through the adversity? What should they do to trust and get along well with each other rather than suspect each other? The following 5 aspects of Bible verses about marriage and love and related articles will guide us to manage our marriage and gain happiness.

The Origins of Marriage

Jehovah God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him” (Genesis 2:18). It is clear that marriage has been ruled and arranged by the Creator. We can’t choose our life partner. The following verses will guide us to know God’s requirements of marriage and to obey His sovereignty and arrangements.

Learn to Let Go and Build Forgiveness Into Our Relationship

Like other intimate relationships, marriage needs forgiveness to thrive. Remember that we all have been corrupted by Satan, so every one of us makes mistakes, and has bad or grumpy days. We may fall into temptations and hurt our spouse. As a result, we can’t get along in harmony with our spouse, which brings harm to our marriage. Therefore, we need to forgive and to be forgiven, to stand in our spouse’s shoes, and guide our spouse to worship God. Only when we practice in this way can we succeed in realizing a romantic marital relationship.

Draw Close to Your Spouse During Tough Seasons

Every marriage will face tough seasons. We may feel overwhelmed during this time, which can cause one or both spouses to lose faith and withdraw. It’s also during these times we get a chance to build a strong marriage. If we flinch in the face of those difficulties, we will feel hard to maintain our marriage, to the extent that our marriage may break up; instead, if we intentionally draw close to our spouse during these tough times, we can build strong marriages.

Proverbs 18:22

Letting Go of Suspicion

Suspicion is a killer. Without true love, spouses will suspect and guard against each other, grow apart, and even end their marriage. God loves honest people who do not suspect others. Therefore, we should be honest with our spouse, and always speak our heart to our spouse, so that spouses can understand each other. Thus, suspicion will not hurt marital affection.

Rely on God and Avoid Temptation in a Relationship at All Times

Many people even do something that hurts their spouse, causing irreparable damage to their marriage and lots of trouble to their spouse. Facing this problem, what should believers in God do? The following verses and articles will guide us to rely on God and overcome Satan’s temptations, thus maintaining a happy marriage.
