Does Holding to “Justification by Faith” Conform to the Will of the Lord?

By Zhao Hui

At dusk, while at table, the couple, Gu Hanlin and Li Yan, were talking. Gu Hanlin said, “There is one thing I still don’t get. The pastor often says ‘justification by faith.’ However, having believed in the Lord for years, we still often live a life of committing sins and confessing sins. In terms of such actions, we cannot be called righteous. So, I think holding on to ‘justification by faith’ doesn’t surely conform to the Lord’s will.”

After pondering for a while, Li Yan said in confusion, “What you said is the actual situation.bible But the Scripture says, ‘Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus’ (Romans 3:25-26). These verses clearly tell us that as long as we believe in God’s salvation, we can be called righteous. It is because of the salvation of Jesus Christ that we believers in Him can be gratuitously justified. These words are also right.”

Shaking his head, Gu Hanlin said, “It’s not that simple, I think.”

Li said, “Oh, yes. Tomorrow, we’re going to attend our co-worker meeting. We can discuss this question with others.” Gu Hanlin nodded as he ate.

The next day, at the co-worker meeting, Pastor Wang said on the lectern, “Brothers and sisters, the Scripture says, ‘That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes to righteousness’ (Romans 10:9-10). From the scriptures, we can know that because of believing in and following the Lord, we can be approved by Him and called righteous. Besides, when the Lord arrives, we can be saved and enter the kingdom of heaven. Today, Brother Gu has raised a doubt. He thinks we still live in sin, and so we can’t be called justified. Today, on this issue, let’s have a discussion.”

On hearing Pastor Wang’s words, Zhou Jian said at once, “I agree with Pastor Wang’s viewpoint. As long as our hearts believe and our mouths acknowledge, then we have been saved. Besides, the Bible says, ‘For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus’ (Romans 3:23-24). The Lord Jesus has been crucified for us, and redeemed us from sin, so we can be justified freely. Although we still can commit sins, God doesn’t see us as sinners. This is ‘justification by faith.’ In my opinion, it’s entirely in line with the Lord’s will.” Most of the co-workers nodded approval.

Liu Dazhi questioned, “As to the question about justification by faith, I don’t think it’s as simple as we imagine. That the Lord Jesus was crucified as the sin offering for us is an undeniable fact. However, it can’t prove that we are righteous people. A so-called righteous man has his righteous actions. For example, at the critical moment, in order to protect the two angles, Lot gave his two daughters in exchange for them and set his life aside. This was a righteous action. Besides, regardless of personal safety, Rahab the harlot protected the two spies in a crisis. This was a good deed. Like Job, when he endured all sorts of trials, he, relying on the faith in Jehovah, didn’t deny the name of Jehovah but bore testimony for Him. He was called righteous by God. From the above facts, it can be seen that the righteousness we think differs from the righteousness that God approves. Therefore, only by holding faith will we be justified—such understanding of us isn’t in accordance with God’s will.”

Gu Hanlin agreed, “Yeah, I agree with Brother Liu’s viewpoint. Whether we can be called righteous is not based on what we say, but based on whether we can practice righteousness, that is, whether we have good deeds or righteous actions. Just as the Scripture says, ‘by works a man is justified, and not by faith only’” (James 2:24).

Pastor Wang argued, “My fellow co-workers, although what we have done can’t compare with the testimonies of the saints through the ages, after accepting the Lord Jesus, we also have forsaken all and expended for Him, and suffered and paid the prices for Him, and these good behaviors can be approved by Him, too. Because the Scripture says, ‘If any man’s work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward’ (1 Corinthians 3:14). Thus, all those we have done for the name and work of the Lord will be commemorated by Him, and can be called righteous.” As soon as Pastor Wang’s voice subsided, Zhou Jian immediately chimed in, “Right! The Lord knows our trekking, expending and laboring for Him, and He will remember these.”

Liu Dazhi retorted, “For what purpose do we trek, expend and work hard for the Lord? Simply for satisfying Him? Or for the blessing of being taken up to heaven when He returns? I think that the people who are really praised by the Lord are those who truly trek and expend for His work, without any impurities and intentions. They carry out God’s will as their mission, don’t make conditions and speak of reasons, don’t concern about personal gains and losses, but act completely in order to love and satisfy the Lord. Just like Abraham, when God asked him to offer up Isaac, he could bear great pain to part with what he loved to offer Isaac, obeying God without conditions. What God praises is man’s sincerity and unconditional obedience, but not merely the outward sufferings and sacrifice of man. Consider another example. In order to carry out God’s will, Noah built the ark for over a hundred years. He didn’t have his personal intentions, nor did he demand anything from God, but instead he accepted His commission, obeyed Him and acted according to His will. Now, look at us. How many of us sincerely expend for the Lord? In our belief in God, we regard God as a cornucopia; we take it for granted that we make demands of God and ask Him for blessings. How can it be said that our sacrifices and expenditures with such intentions are for the Lord? And how can we gain His approval and be called righteous by Him? For another example, in the Bible, the Pharisees, chief priests, scribes sacrificed and expended for God over the years, and served God in the temple every day, but why did the Lord Jesus not call them the righteous but denounced them with the ‘Seven Woes’? Because the hearts with which they believed in God were impure. In their faith in God, they labored and expended in order to maintain their own status, power and livelihood. When they saw many people followed the Lord Jesus as He came to work, they were jealous, and resisted and condemned Him, and at last crucified Him on the cross. Aren’t these facts worthy of learning from or reflection?”

Then, Gu Hanlin said earnestly, “Exactly! We believe in God indeed with such intentions. Even if we sacrifice and expend, we are for gaining blessings, the crown and eternal life. This is a fact. It seems that it is worthy of deep thought of whether the viewpoint of “justification by faith” is right or not.”

Pastor Wang said in a loud voice, “I admit what you said. But the Lord has borne all sins for us and He won’t see us as sinners. This’s enough. The view, justification by faith, will never be wrong, for the Scripture says, ‘And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God’” (1 Corinthians 6:11).

Just as he finished speaking, Zheng Xiaohui asked calmly, “Pastor Wang, the Lord has borne all sins for us, but it only can be said that God doesn’t remember our sins; however, we still live in sins every day, and can’t cast off sin. Taking our sin with us, we won’t see the Lord, because the Bible says, ‘For God has not called us to uncleanness, but to holiness’ (1 Thessalonians 4:7) and ‘holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord’ (Hebrews 12:14). If according to ‘justification by faith,’ then how can we explain these two verses? Can it be that we are holy and are called righteous by God after the Lord Jesus redeemed us with His life? Now, which of us doesn’t live a life where we commit sins during the day but then plead guilty to them at night? So, what we believe—justification by faith—isn’t in line with the Lord’s will at all.”

Everyone all started talking about it. “I think Sister Zheng’s viewpoint is relatively right. Only when we become holy can we be called righteous, but when we are sinful, we can’t.” “Right! Only relying on the salvation of the Lord Jesus is not enough, because we still live a life of sinning in the day and confessing at night. Can we see the Lord if we don’t become holy?” “Yes! Seems justification by faith is not as simple as we imagine.” Hearing the murmur of discussion, Pastor Wang couldn’t say anything more.

Zhou Jian retorted, “Although we are sinful and can’t overcome sin by ourselves, we can rely on the Lord Jesus to become holy, because the Bible says, ‘And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous’ (1 John 2:1). ‘Who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification’ (Romans 4:25). The Lord Jesus was crucified to take on the sins of us and was raised for our justification. He is merciful and loving. Even though we commit sins, won’t He forgive us?”

Liu Dazhi said sternly and firmly, “Co-worker Zhou, I don’t agree with your opinion. The Lord is merciful and loving, but He is also righteous and holy. For instance, the Pharisees, believing in God but not knowing God, suffered the curse of God. The Scripture says, ‘But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid’ (Galatians 2:17). ‘For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries’ (Hebrews 10:26-27). From this, we can see the Lord also has the righteous and majestic side. If we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, we won’t gain the Lord’s forgiveness. Often sinning, we can’t be called righteous by Him.”

Zheng Xiaohui said genuinely, “That’s right! We think we can be righteous freely only by faith in the Lord, but it doesn’t accord with the facts. Let’s recall the records in the Bible. Although Judas was chosen as one of the disciples of the Lord Jesus, he betrayed the Lord because of clinging to money, and at last he burst open in the middle and died full of regret. Besides, as to those scribes and Pharisees, although on the outside they suffered and sacrificed for serving God, they nailed the Lord Jesus to the cross, severely offending God’s disposition, which led to the destruction of Israel. Thus, it can be seen that the Lord won’t bring those who resist Him into God’s kingdom. So, if we only cling to justification by faith but not pursue to be holy, we cannot gain God’s approval.”

Glancing at Liu Dazhi and Zheng Xiaohui unhappily, Zhou Jian turned his head away and didn’t say anything more.

Liu Dazhi continued, “Yes. The Lord Jesus said, ‘Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven’ (Matthew 7:21). And the Revelation 22:14 records, ‘Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.’ From the teaching of the Lord and the prophecy of Revelation, we can see that if we believers want to be approved by God, we must obey the Lord’s way, and put His words into practice to achieve to know and love Him. Only when being purified can we be compatible with Him and be qualified to enter God’s kingdom.”

All the co-workers whispered to each other and discussed. At that time, with an unhappy face, Pastor Wang said in a harsh tune of voice, “Brothers and sisters, don’t argue. It’s getting late. As for the question about ‘justification by faith,’ let’s conclude our discussion here. All right. Let’s pray and call it a day.”

At night, sitting on the sofa, Gu Hanlin talked with Li Yan about the meeting in the day, saying, “I find Brother Liu and his wife Sister Zheng fellowshiped with great insight in the recent several meetings.”

Li Yan nodded and said, “I have found that in the last meeting. Now, their speech not only is insightful but has the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit.”

Gu Hanlin said excitedly, “Why don’t we visit them to seek and discuss with them tomorrow?”

Li Yan smiled, “Good idea! I was just thinking the exact same thing. Tomorrow, let’s go to their home.”

Are You Someone Who Obtains Eternal Life?

By Zhang Yan Now is the end of the last days when the prophecies of the Lord Jesus’ return have all come true, and we expect to be taken into God’s kingdom and obtain eternal life more eagerly, because the Lord Jesus once said, “He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God stays on him” (John 3:36). All these years we have been repenting our sins, preaching the gospel, and bearing fruits, just as the Lord Jesus asked. Thus, we all feel ourselves most approved by God, and that as long as we hold on to the Lord Jesus’ way, we will surely obtain eternal life. Then, is the opinion, after all, in accordance with God’s will? Regarding this question, let’s think back on what the Lord Jesus did in the Age of Grace. At that time, the Lord Jesus incarnate came among us mankind and brought forth the gospel of the kingdom of heaven, saying, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). From the Lord’s word, we clearly know that what He brought man was the way of confession and repentance. And, in addition to these teachings, He also gave all his mercy and love to His followers, bestowed sufficient grace upon man, healed the sick, cast out demons, raised the dead…, until eventually He was nailed to the cross for redeeming mankind, thus completing the work of redemption. However, in spite of having received forgiveness of sins from the Lord, we man still live in the vicious cycle of committing and confessing sins. We can still express these corrupt dispositions anywhere and anytime, such as greed, selfishness, arrogance, deceit, and so on, so that we commit sins at any time and any place. For instance, when we labor hard for the Lord for years, we feel we have the capital to flaunt ourselves. Meanwhile, we all enjoy being in a lofty position to have others worship us, and always exalt and testify ourselves. Isn’t this the behavior of our arrogant nature? Such substance is exactly the substance of the Pharisees, with which we always talk big, try every means to be exalted and admired by others in sermons. Not only this, we also have treacherous nature. So, in order to secure our fame and status, we usually act one way in public and another in private, and unwittingly tell lies to deceive and blind man on sundry occasions so as to satisfy our personal desires. This proves that our sinful nature is still deeply rooted within us and thus we can still sin and resist God, that is, we have yet to achieve eternal life, since those who have eternal life are someone whose sins have been cleansed. God’s kingdom is holy, and only those who have been purified are worthy to enter His kingdom. How can we, who often sin, be qualified to enter it? The Lord Jesus never said that man could enter the kingdom of heaven with his sinful nature; while we often absurdly think that as long as we labor, sacrifice for the Lord, and keep the Lord’s name at all times, we will enter it and gain eternal life. However, never have we realized that only pursuing to be purified by the Lord and thereby being thoroughly cleansed is the precondition of being approved by the Lord and raptured into the kingdom of heaven. The Lord Jesus said clearly, “Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever commits sin is the servant of sin. And the servant stays not in the house for ever: but the Son stays ever” (John 8:34-35). He also demanded, “And said, Truly I say to you, Except you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3). The Lord Jesus told us plainly that if we man don’t become as simple and honest as children, and don’t break away from sin to be purified, we won’t be able to enter the kingdom of heaven or obtain eternal life. Then, how will the Lord Jesus’ promise that we will have eternal life be accomplished since we still often commit sins now and have yet to obtain eternal life? When studying the Bible carefully, I read the words of the Lord Jesus, “And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:47-48). “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come” (John 16:12-13). Also, I saw some man’s words of enlightenment of the Holy Spirit, “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin to salvation” (Hebrews 9:28). “Who are kept by the power of God through faith to salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Peter 1:5). From the above verses, we know that when the Lord Jesus was first incarnated to do the work of redemption, He took on all the sins of man as the sin offering and thereby redeemed man from the law, so that man would be no longer condemned or cursed by the law and had the qualification and opportunity to come before God to get close, pray, confess, and repent to Him. Nevertheless, we man haven’t gotten free from our sinful nature and can’t enter God’s kingdom yet. Therefore, in the last days the Lord Jesus will come again, express more truths, and do a stage of work of thoroughly judging, purifying, and saving man, in order to solve our sinful nature and have our corrupt disposition completely cleansed and transformed, through which we can obtain eternal life. The Lord Jesus once said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:27-28). “He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God stays on him” (John 3:36). We all know that what the Lord Jesus did during the Age of Grace was the redemptive work, and what He preached was the way of repentance. The Lord Jesus is Christ, God Himself, and eternal life. It’s just that only when He comes again, which is to say, the Spirit of truth comes, can the way of eternal life be given to man. Those wise virgins who can recognize the Lord’s voice will obtain it, just as the Lord Jesus said, “And I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish.” Obviously, when He comes again, He will, still in the image of the incarnate Son of man, bestow life upon man through expressing the truth. God says, “He that believes on the Son has everlasting life.” Provided that we merely hold on to the Lord Jesus’ way of repentance yet don’t accept all the truths brought by the returned Lord, then we can’t be called believers in the Son, much less can we obtain eternal life. Instead, only when we believe in the incarnate Son of man in the last days, moreover, accept all the truths expressed by Him, and receive the judgment and purification of these truths to gain life, can our faith accord with the Lord Jesus’ word, and can the meaning of our belief in the Son be complete. Also, this is the only way for us to obtain eternal life and to be raptured into the kingdom of heaven in the last days. All the enlightenment, illumination, and glory be to God! 2 Imperative Ways to Get Ready for Jesus’ Return

How Will Prophecies About the Second Coming of Jesus Christ in the Bible Come True?

Each genuine follower of the Lord Jesus is expecting Him to come back soon so that his wish for years could be realized. And he can receive the Lord’s promise and enjoy His blessings. Especially in the end-time, our heart of longing for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ becomes more eager. It is written in Acts 1:11, “this same Jesus … shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.” And it says in John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” Therefore, the brothers and sisters firmly believe that the Lord Jesus will come again. Then, in what manner will the Lord Jesus come? Will He really come on a cloud as we imagine? Will the prophecies be fulfilled in the same way as we think? In what manner should we welcome His return? This is a question that each of us who follow the Lord Jesus must consider seriously. If we are careless, we’ll probably lose His salvation. Referring to “prophecy,” we should first know this clearly: Prophecies are what will occur in the future. Before they come true, none of us knows what they really mean. In prophecies, there are God’s wonderfulness and wisdom as well as mysteries. Man can neither fathom nor understand how they will come true. Why can’t man fathom it? Because God’s thoughts shall always be higher than man’s thoughts. The gulf between heaven and earth is like that between the thoughts of God and man. Just as it is written in Romans 11:33-34, “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the Lord? or who has been his counselor?” And it says in 2 Corinthians 3:6, “…for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.” So, the fulfillment of prophecies is not as simple as we imagine, much less will it occur according to the words of the Bible. Why do we say so? Let’s look back to how the prophecies about the Messiah’s coming were fulfilled. Then, we shall see that prophecies don’t come true according to the letters of the scriptures or man’s imagination. The Israelites at that time all expected the Messiah to come earlier. Especially in the later period of the Age of Law, their heart of longing was even more eager. However, when the Messiah did come, they did not recognize Him but resisted and forsook Him. Why was it so? It was clearly written in the Bible, “…a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son….” (Isaiah 7:14) But in their eyes, Marry had a husband. How could the prophecy that “a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son” be fulfilled on her? Although the Lord Jesus was actually born by virgin Marry, how many people believed this fact? Obviously, what people saw was discordant with the fact. Let us read another prophecy in Isaiah 9:6-7, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government shall be on his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from now on even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” According to this prophecy, the Israelites gave the rein to their lively imagination, thinking that the Messiah who would take power must be born in a palace. He must be majestic-looking and have an impressive appearance, and would lead them to overthrow the rule of the Roman government. What was the result then? When the prophecy came true, Jesus was not born in a palace, but in a manger. He was not majestic-looking like a king in their imagination but was a very common carpenter. He did not lead the army to overthrow the rule of the Roman government, but instead taught man to be tolerant and patient, love enemies, and forgive others until seventy times seven. None of these conformed to the imagination of the Israelites. From what is stated above, we see that man’s imagination completely contradicts the fulfillment of the prophecies. Pharisees eagerly looked forward to the coming of the Messiah, but at the same time forsook and resisted His coming. Why was that? Because they were full of the illusions about the coming of the Messiah. They were filled with imaginations and notions about the fulfillment of the prophecies. Therefore, when the prophecies came true in a way not conforming to their notions and imaginations, they resisted and condemned Jesus to the utmost. This fully showed their nature of stubbornness, arrogance, and not seeking the truth, which was the cause of their failure. Pharisees held onto the prophecies in the Old Testament, but they resisted the coming of the Messiah. Were the prophecies wrong? Certainly not. It was simply because they paid too much attention to the letters of the scriptures but neglected the substance of the fulfillment of the prophecies. These prophecies didn’t enable them to recognize and accept the Messiah. Instead, they became the cause of their resistance to the Messiah and the foundation for them to forsake Him. In the end, they nailed the merciful Lord Jesus onto the cross, committing a monstrous sin, which led to the destruction of their nation. Now it is already the end time. How should we deal with the prophecies about the Lord’s return? If the Lord returns in a way that is discordant with our expectation and imagination, how shall we face it? Shall we hold on to the letters of the scriptures and welcome the return of the Lord according to our imagination, or be a humble man who seeks the truth? Will we shut the door against the returned Lord Jesus like the Pharisees? Don’t we need to think it over? In fact, the Lord Jesus has already descended in a hidden way, the Spirit of truth has already come to the world. He is Almighty God who became flesh in the end time. Almighty God expressed millions of words. He has opened the Little Scroll and revealed all the mysteries of God’s six-thousand-year management plan to the whole mankind. It has been over twenty years since Almighty God embarked upon the end-time work in China. Every denomination and sect seem to have been cleared up. All those who truly believe in Godand thirst for the truth have come out of their denominations and sects to accept Almighty God’s end-time work of judgment and chastisement. However, when Almighty God’s kingdom gospel is spreading on a grand scale in the religious world, few of the unbelievers are aware of it. This fulfills all the prophecies in the Bible that the Lord will come as a thief. The reason why this period is called the hidden advent is that during this period God only does work on those believers who await His coming. For those unbelievers, the work is hidden. It fulfills the prophecies in 1Peter 4:17 and Hebrews 9:28. The verses go like this, “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God.” “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin to salvation.” When the Lord Jesus comes back, some know it first, some know it later, and some don’t know. Some investigate and accept the gospel after hearing upon the Lord’s advent, while some condemn it hastily or ignore it. As Almighty God’s kingdom gospel continuously spreads, the prophesies gradually come true that the Lord will reap and winnow, separate the wheat from the tares, reunite all denominations into one, and so on when He comes again. Since the Lord has descended in a hidden way, then how to explain that the Lord will descend on a cloud? Almighty God says, “For several thousand years, man has longed to be able to witness the arrival of the Savior. Man has longed to behold Jesus the Savior on a white cloud as He descends, in person, among those who have pined and yearned for Him for thousands of years. Man has longed for the Savior to return and be reunited with the people, that is, for Jesus the Savior to come back to the people from whom He has been apart for thousands of years. And man hopes that He will once again carry out the work of redemption that He did among the Jews, will be compassionate and loving towards man, will forgive the sins of man, bear the sins of man, and even bear all of man’s transgressions and deliver man from sin. They long for Jesus the Savior to be the same as before—a Savior who is lovable, amiable and venerable, who is never wrathful towards man, and who never reproaches man. This Savior shall forgive and bear all of man’s sins, and even die upon the cross for man once more. Since Jesus departed, the disciples who followed Him, and all of the saints who were saved thanks to His name, have been desperately pining for Him and awaiting Him. All those who were saved by the grace of Jesus Christ during the Age of Grace have been longing for that joyful day during the last days, when Jesus the Savior arrives on a white cloud and appears to all men. Of course, this is also the collective wish of all those who accept the name of Jesus the Savior today. Throughout the universe, all those who know of the salvation of Jesus the Savior have been ‘desperately yearning for’ the sudden arrival of Jesus Christ, to ‘fulfill’ the words of Jesus when on earth: ‘I shall arrive just as I departed.’ Man believes that, following the crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus went back to heaven upon a white cloud, and took His place at the Most High’s right hand. Similarly, man conceives that Jesus shall descend, again upon a white cloud (this cloud refers to the cloud that Jesus rode upon when He returned to heaven), among the mankind who has desperately yearned for Him for thousands of years, and that He shall bear the image and clothes of the Jews. After appearing to man, He shall bestow food upon them, and cause living water to gush forth for them, and shall live among man, full of grace and love, living and real. And so on. Yet Jesus the Savior did not do this; He did the opposite of what man conceived. He did not arrive among those who had yearned for His return, and did not appear to all men while riding upon the ‘white cloud.’ He has already arrived, but man does not know Him, and remains ignorant of His arrival. Man is only aimlessly awaiting Him, unaware that He has already descended upon a white cloud (the cloud which is His Spirit, His words, and His entire disposition and all that He is), and is now among a group of overcomers that He will make during the last days. How can man know that, although the Holy Savior Jesus is full of affection and love towards man, He would never do His work in the ‘temples’ inhabited by filth and impure spirits? Though man has been awaiting His arrival, how could He appear to those who eat the flesh of the unrighteous, drink the blood of the unrighteous, wear the clothes of the unrighteous, who believe in Him but do not know Him, and who constantly extort Him? Man knows only that Jesus the Savior is full of love and compassion, and is the sin offering filled with redemption. But man has no idea that He is also God Himself, who is brimming with righteousness, majesty, wrath, and judgment, and possessed of authority and full of dignity. And so even though man eagerly yearns for and craves the return of the Redeemer, and even ‘Heaven’ is moved by the prayers of man, Jesus the Savior does not appear to those who believe in Him but do not know Him.” When God does His work in a hidden way, all of those who seek humbly and can accept the truth have returned to the throne of God by accepting His end-time work. Those who don’t accept it condemn and blaspheme God out of their arrogance. So they are numbered among the wicked by God and will be subjected to His righteous punishment. Almighty God says, “The return of Jesus is a great salvation for those who are capable of accepting the truth, but for those who are unable to accept the truth it is a sign of condemnation. You should choose your own path, and should not blaspheme against the Holy Spirit and reject the truth. You should not be an ignorant and arrogant person, but someone who obeys the guidance of the Holy Spirit and longs for and seeks the truth; only in this way will you benefit. I advise you to tread the path of belief in God with care. Do not jump to conclusions; what’s more, do not be casual and carefree in your belief in God. You should know that, at the very least, those who believe in God should be humble and reverential. Those who have heard the truth and yet turn their nose up at it are foolish and ignorant. Those who have heard the truth and yet carelessly jump to conclusions or condemn it are beset by arrogance. No-one who believes in Jesus is qualified to curse or condemn others. You should all be someone who is rational and accepts the truth. Perhaps, having heard the way of truth and read the word of life, you believe that only one in 10,000 of these words are in line with your convictions and the Bible, and then you should continue to seek in that 10,000th of these words. I still advise you to be humble, to not be over-confident, and to not exalt yourself too highly. With your heart holding such meager reverence for God, you will gain greater light. If you carefully examine and repeatedly contemplate these words, you shall understand whether or not they are the truth, and whether or not they are life. Perhaps, having only read a few sentences, some people will blindly condemn these words, saying, ‘This is nothing more than some inspiration of the Holy Spirit,’ or, ‘This is a false Christ come to deceive people.’ Those who say such things are blinded by ignorance! You understand too little of the work and wisdom of God, and I advise you to start again from scratch! You must not blindly condemn the words expressed by God because of the appearance of false Christs during the last days, and must not be someone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit because you fear deception. Would that not be a great pity?” God’s sheep listen to God’s voice. As long as you read Almighty God’s word, you will see that God has appeared!
