What is ‘My new name’ as prophesied in Revelation? Will the Lord Jesus change name upon His return in the last days? Through fellowshiping, I got the answer.
God is a wise God, and every single thing He does has great significance. The name Almighty God fully represents His work and the disposition He expresses in the last days.
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Heb 13:8). This refers to the fact that God’s disposition and His essence are eternal and unchanging. It does not mean that His name will not change.
“You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of Jehovah shall name” (Isa 62:2). “Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I will write on him my new name” (Rev 3:12).
Every true believer in the Lord is yearning for the Lord’s return. But what name will He take when He returns? Will He be called Jesus or have a new name?
Christians all know that God’s name was Jehovah in the Age of Law and Jesus in the Age of Grace. But do you know the mystery of God’s name?
In the Age of Law, God took the name Yahweh; in the Age of Grace, He took the name Jesus, and the Book of Revelation prophesied that God would have yet another new name. Why does God change names? Read this article to learn the mystery of God’s name.
God will have a new name in the last days. There is a biblical basis for that. After a Bible study meeting, I have a new understanding of God’s names and know the mystery of His name.
